Self-confidence

The business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him.

Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.

Suddenly an old man appeared before him. "I can see that something is troubling you," he said.

After listening to the executive's woes, the old man said, "I believe I can help you."

He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, "Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time."

The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!

"I can erase my money worries in an instant!" he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the un-cashed check in his safe.

Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought.

With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales.

Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.

One year later, he returned to the park with the un-cashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared.

But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.

"I'm so glad I caught him!" she cried. "I hope he hasn't been bothering you.

He's always escaping from the home and telling people he's John D. Rockefeller." And she led the old man away.

The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he'd been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.

Suddenly, he realized that it wasn't the money that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.

Thought worth sharing!!!

I heard Dr Manmohan Singh saying that if India grows at 9%GDP, we can be 3rd largest economy by 2025.......what he forgot to mention are the if's and but's of the assumption he has given.

For me he is not more then a speculator, because what he has not shared might be more alarming like all developed economies should stay with 3-4 GDP growth till 2025.

Joke of the day!!!!!!!!

A little boy was doing his maths homework.
He said to himself, "Two plus five, the son of a b!tch is seven.

Three plus six, the son of a b!tch is nine..."
His mother heard what he was saying and gasped, "What are you doing?"

The little boy answered, "I'm doing my maths homework, Mom."
"And this is how your teacher taught you to do it?" the mother asked.
"Yes," he answered.

Infuriated, the mother asked the teacher the next day, "What are you teaching my son in maths?"

The teacher replied, "Right now, we are learning addition."
The mother asked, "And are you teaching them to say two plus two, the Son Of a b!tch is four?"

After the teacher stopped laughing, she answered,

"What I taught them was, two plus two, THE SUM OF WHICH, is four."

"Life is beautiful"

One of the ways to get Salary Appriasal Approved.........and its funny too :D what an irony

A Boss looking through his Mail Box was astonished to see a mail from an Employee who was supposed to be busy working at Client side on a critical project. It had the subject – “TaTa – Bye Bye”. With the worst premonition he opened the mail and read the content with trembling hands:-

Dear Sir,

It is with great regret and sorrow that I’m writing you, but I’m leaving the job. The offer was too lucrative and attractive for me to turn down. I am sorry but I had no choice.

The project is working fine. There are only 108 issues pending, out of which only 38% issues are High Priority. Hence I am sure there is no need to worry about. The next Phase of major enhancements I have been working upon, have been completed halfway. I am sure the new person who would replace me would not understand what all I had done so far. Hence, for his and your convenience, I have taken care to remove all the work that I had been doing this far for nearly 3 months now.

I am sure you will appreciate my insight and “big heart”.

I am of course retaining the Originals that I had retrieved for the purpose of Passport verification with me, considering it as a parting gift from you. Of course, I will not pay the bond amount that I owe the company (since I Am breaking the bond). But I will consider this as a parting gift from our Dear company. I moving out of town since the new company is situated in another City.

Also, I have changed my contact number. So you will not be able to get in touch with me, to congratulate me. But I know your blessings are always with me. Last but not the least. I also have the Rs 12000 entrusted to me by our company’s cultural events group, for the upcoming movie event. I am sure you would have wanted me to keep it with myself as an added bonus from our company. I respect you very much, hence your wish is my command.

Don’t worry sir. I am 2 years experienced now, learning so much from your company. So I will surely use this knowledge to write better programs for the new company. Someday I’m sure we will meet sometime in the future. If you wish, I will surely be glad to give my employee reference for you to apply for a job in the new company which I am joining.

Your faithful employee,

S. W. Engineer

At the bottom of the page were the letters “PS”. Hands still trembling, the Boss read:

PS: Dearest Boss, none of the above is true. I’m am still busy working at client side. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than my “Request to reconsider my Salary Appraisal” attached with this mail. Please approve it and call when it is safe for me to come to our Office to discuss this. My respect and Best Regards to you!

Why compare yourself with others? No one in the entire world can do a better job of being you than you.

Joke of the day!!!!!!!!

A 92 year old man went to the doctor to get a physical. A few days later, the doctor saw the man walking down the street with a gorgeous young lady on his arm. At his follow up visit, the doctor talked to the man and said, "You're really doing great, aren't you?"

The man replied, "Just doing what you said Doc: 'Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.'"

The Doctor said, "I didn't say that. I said you got a heart murmur. Be careful."

Know about it, but don't talk about it.

People who change/mold their feelings depending on the situation upfront are always misleading.

Feeling should develop over a period and decision should be made no matter how you feel about the situation. Your decision also doesn't speak about your feelings because you might have made a decision that is based on what is right for the moment but need not be how you would feel about it.

Let Experts do their Work !!!

This is a true story from the Japanese Embassy in US!!!

A few years ago, Prime Minister Mori was given some basic English conversation training before he visits Washington and meets president Bill Clinton...

The instructor told Mori Prime Minister, when you shake hand with President Clinton, please say 'how r u'.

Then Mr. Clinton should say, 'I am fine, and you?' Now, you should say 'me too'. Afterwards we, translators, will do the work for you.'

It looks quite simple, but the truth is...

When Mori met Clinton , he mistakenly said 'Who r u?' (instead of 'How r u?'. )

Mr. Clinton was a bit shocked but still managed to react with humor: 'Well, I'm Hillary's husband, ha-ha...'

Then Mori replied ,'me too, ha-ha.. .'.

Then there was a long silence in the meeting room &..

Knowing others is wisdom; knowing thy self is enlightenment.

90% of our problems in our RELATIONSHIPS are due to the TONE of our VOICE. Its not about WHAT we say, Its about HOW we say it.......

Become a watcher, of yourself and what’s around you. Develop the witness, the part of you that can step back from life and impartially observe how you react and think and feel. We learn so much about who we are!

First Fall!!!!!!!!!!

Date : Thursday 17th Ferburary 2011

Today maanu fell for the first time hand/head on the floor. His desire of paper has been the culprit.

In evening as usual he was felling sleepy, we wanted to keep him awake a little longer. So we decided to put him in his crowned chair…….but the chair is not anymore strong and capable to hold the brat.
As I was to take other thing, I wanted to divert his mind towards other things so that he doesn’t start crying[nowday’s he’s getting very sensitive about things he have]. I gave him today’s paper in good faith and thinking soon he’ll start reading….. :D :P

But to everyone’s surprise the thing that followed changed us. He first played with the paper and threw it to his left and in his futile effort to get it back…he just title far enough to roll off to floor take the chair along with him.

Lucky escape and Fortunate event

Now he know how it feel when fallen :D will be useful in his life :D
